When Armed Security Is the Right Call
Armed security is not a default. It is a tool. The moment an environment moves from low-risk to elevated-risk — a cash-handling business, an executive principal under threat, a high-ticket retail operation, a construction site storing tens of thousands of dollars of equipment, an event with a high-profile principal, a venue with a history of incidents — armed presence changes the math for everyone on the property. A trained armed officer does not look for conflict. An armed officer deters conflict by their presence alone and is prepared to respond if deterrence fails.
U.S.S. Agency deploys armed officers only when the assignment calls for them. We do not upsell clients into armed coverage they do not need. We assess threat, environment, asset value, and exposure, and we recommend the posture that actually protects the outcome. When armed is the right call, every officer we send holds a current Florida Class G Statewide Firearms License in addition to the Class D Security Officer License, has passed the state-required firearms qualification, carries annually-recertified credentials on person, and has passed our own internal qualification standard that exceeds the state minimum.
The U.S.S. Agency Armed Officer Standard
Every armed officer we field passes a multi-stage vetting process before ever being assigned to a client site: background check, drug screen, credential verification, firearms proficiency qualification, and a sit-down with our field leadership. We train continually — de-escalation, legal use-of-force under Florida Statute 776, incident documentation, emergency response protocols, client-specific site procedures. Most security companies stop at the state minimum. We start there. Our armed roster is led by certified Law Enforcement Firearms Instructors and field leaders with active-duty military backgrounds. The person who trained our officer is the person our officer answers to.

Licensing and Compliance
U.S.S. Agency operates under Florida Statute Chapter 493, Section 6301 et seq. — the Florida Private Security Services Act. Every armed officer carries a current Class G Statewide Firearms License and a current Class D Security Officer License, both issued by the Florida Department of Agriculture and Consumer Services, Division of Licensing. Our corporate agency license is on file with FDACS and is verifiable. We carry commercial general liability coverage above the statutory minimum and provide certificates of insurance to every client on request. Florida's armed security regulations are among the most stringent in the country, and we consider that a feature, not a burden.
Technology Every Armed Deployment Includes
Every U.S.S. Agency armed deployment comes with the technology our clients actually need to verify that coverage is real. GPS-verified check-in and check-out at post. Digital Daily Activity Reports with photo evidence uploaded live from the field. Real-time incident alerts to both the client and the account manager the moment a post order is activated. A client-facing dashboard where you can see exactly who is on your post, when they arrived, and what has happened on shift. We do not charge extra for this. It is standard on every armed engagement because it is the only way the client knows what they are actually paying for.
How Armed Engagements Are Priced
Armed security pricing depends on officer count, shift structure, coverage hours, location, and threat profile. Armed officer engagements typically run in the $35 to $55 per hour range, with executive protection, specialized coverage, and short-notice emergency deployments priced individually. We do not underbid to win work. The cheapest armed security on the market is almost always the most expensive decision a client can make after an incident they paid too little to prevent. We will quote you accurately and show you exactly what is included.
Our Process for Armed Deployments
Every armed engagement starts with a property and threat assessment delivered by a U.S.S. Agency field lead. We review the site, the exposure profile, the operating environment, any prior incident history, and any existing security posture. Based on that assessment we recommend officer count, posture (uniformed vs plainclothes), shift structure, coverage schedule, and post orders. Officers are assigned to the account, briefed on all procedures, and deployed. Our management team stays engaged with ongoing performance audits, reporting reviews, and adjustments as the operating environment changes.
Frequently Asked Questions
Are your armed officers Class G licensed? Yes. Every armed officer on U.S.S. Agency's roster holds a current Class G Statewide Firearms License in addition to the Class D Security Officer License. Licensing is verified through FDACS before assignment and is re-verified at license renewal.
Can you deploy armed officers on short notice? Yes. Emergency armed deployments — post-incident response, workplace violence, temporary executive protection, short-notice event coverage — can often be staffed within 24 hours. Critical situations can be covered faster.
Do you provide plainclothes armed officers? Yes. We staff both uniformed and plainclothes armed officers based on the engagement. Plainclothes is common for executive protection, loss prevention in retail, and discreet venue security.
Are your armed officers insured? Yes. U.S.S. Agency carries commercial general liability coverage well above Florida minimums, with certificates of insurance provided to every client on request and updated annually.
Can we scale officer count based on events? Yes. Many clients run a baseline daily armed coverage profile and scale up for events, high-traffic days, or specific threat windows. We plan this in advance so you are not scrambling at the last minute.
A Serious Security Partner
U.S.S. Agency has provided professional security services since 2008 across Florida and nationwide. Armed security is a discipline that rewards seriousness, preparation, and accountability — and punishes companies that treat it as a commodity. We do not treat it as a commodity. When our officer arrives at your post, they are prepared, credentialed, trained, and accountable to a field lead who is reachable. That is the baseline we committed to in 2008 and it is the baseline we will still be holding years from now. Contact U.S.S. Agency to discuss your armed security requirements.
