Licensing Is Not Optional
Florida's Private Security Services Act under Chapter 493 requires every security company operating in the state to hold a Class B Agency License. Every individual security officer must hold a Class D Security Officer License. Every armed security officer must additionally hold a Class G Statewide Firearms License. These are not suggestions. They are the baseline legal requirements for anyone operating security services in Florida.
U.S.S. Agency has operated in full compliance with Florida's licensing framework since 2008. Our corporate Class B Agency License is on file with the Florida Department of Agriculture and Consumer Services, Division of Licensing, and is verifiable at any time through FDACS. Every officer on our roster carries their individual Class D or Class G license on their person while on duty, and every credential is re-verified at renewal dates and annually through our compliance review.
Insurance That Exceeds the Minimum
Security work is liability work. When something goes wrong on a post, the client, the property owner, the landlord, the insurance carrier, and the courts all want to know who is responsible and whether the responsible party carries adequate coverage. U.S.S. Agency carries commercial general liability insurance at coverage limits well above the statutory minimums required by the State of Florida. Additional insured endorsements, waiver of subrogation, and specific coverage limits required by property management companies, landlords, insurance carriers, or event venues are provided during onboarding and updated annually at renewal.
What Licensed and Insured Actually Means
Some security providers claim to be "licensed and insured" without being able to produce current documentation. Verifying a security company's actual status takes less than five minutes and is every client's right before engagement.
- Verify the Class B Agency License. FDACS maintains a public verification tool.
- Verify individual officer licenses. Class D and Class G are also publicly verifiable.
- Request a Certificate of Insurance (COI). Any licensed and insured company will provide one on request.
- Check coverage limits. Compare to what your property or event actually requires.
- Confirm additional insured. Some properties require the landlord, management company, or venue to be named.
- Ask about workers compensation. Required for any company employing officers in Florida.
The U.S.S. Agency Standard
Every officer we deploy is licensed under Florida Statute Chapter 493, Section 6301 et seq. Every armed officer holds a current Class G Statewide Firearms License. Every unarmed officer holds a current Class D Security Officer License. Field leadership includes certified Law Enforcement Firearms Instructors and personnel with active-duty military experience. No paper officers. No gaps in coverage. No corners cut.

Our training is led by certified Law Enforcement Firearms Instructors and field leadership with active-duty military backgrounds. We reinforce baseline training continually with de-escalation, legal use-of-force, incident documentation, emergency response protocols, and client-specific site procedures. Most security companies stop at the state minimum. We start there. Every deployment comes with GPS check-in and check-out, digital Daily Activity Reports with photo evidence, real-time incident alerts, and a client-facing dashboard.
When something happens on your property, the person handling it is a local field lead who can be on-site in minutes. Our account managers answer their phones, their emails, and their texts — because that is the job.

Why Clients Stay
Our client retention reflects the way we structure engagements. We do not underbid to win the contract. We do not promise officer counts we cannot staff. We do not send officers who have not been through our vetting process.
- Officers who stay. Retention translates to consistency on your site.
- Technology clients can see. GPS, digital DARs, real-time alerts, dashboard.
- Field leadership that answers. Direct line to a field lead, not a call center.
- Written proposals. Defined scope, post orders, escalation protocols.
- Rapid deployment. Most engagements deploy within 72 hours of agreement.
