Retail Security Is Measured in Results

Retail security is the only security discipline where the client can measure, to the dollar, whether it is working. Inventory shrink is quantifiable. Customer-incident counts are quantifiable. Theft recovery is quantifiable. U.S.S. Agency builds retail security programs around that reality: we measure what we deliver and we report it back to operators in formats that integrate with loss-prevention reviews, quarterly operating reviews, and insurance discussions.

Our retail security officers serve anchored retail, specialty retail, plaza operators, mall management companies, and high-ticket operators like jewelry, firearms retail, electronics, and luxury boutiques. Every engagement is built around the specific operator's risk profile — a high-traffic grocery plaza is a different program than a luxury boutique, and we staff accordingly.

The U.S.S. Agency Retail Standard

Retail officers are specifically selected for the environment: approachable, professional, detail-oriented, skilled at loss-prevention observation, and capable of de-escalating customer conflicts without escalating them. Every officer holds a current Florida Class D Security Officer License under Florida Statute Chapter 493. Plainclothes officers staffing high-ticket or high-shrink environments carry the same licensing and additional training specific to undercover observation and apprehension protocols.

Retail Services We Deliver

Retail security is not a single service. It is a layered program built around the operator's environment and risk profile.

High-Ticket and Specialty Retail

Jewelry stores, firearms retail, electronics, luxury boutiques, and specialty operators carry a risk profile that general retail does not. High-ticket merchandise attracts organized retail crime (ORC), smash-and-grab attempts, and sophisticated theft. U.S.S. Agency has deployed security programs for high-ticket operators for over 15 years, and we know the specific coverage model that reduces loss in these environments: armed presence during operating hours when warranted, plainclothes observation trained to identify ORC markers, coordination with local law enforcement on trend-specific threats, and reinforced coverage during high-risk windows.

Technology Retail Operators Can Actually Use

Every U.S.S. Agency retail deployment comes with operational technology that integrates with retail management reporting: GPS-verified officer check-in and check-out, digital Daily Activity Reports with photo evidence, incident-specific reporting with timestamp and narrative, and a client-facing dashboard where operators can see exactly who is on-post, when they arrived, and what has happened on-shift. Our incident reporting is formatted for easy integration with LP software, insurance documentation, and regional operating reviews.

Integration with Loss Prevention Teams

We integrate cleanly with in-house loss prevention teams. Many retail operators run internal LP programs and hire external security to provide uniformed or plainclothes coverage that complements internal systems. Our field leads coordinate with LP managers, share incident data in the formats they need, attend regular LP reviews, and support the investigation and apprehension protocols the operator has already established. We add, we do not compete.

Licensed, Insured, and Documented

U.S.S. Agency operates under Florida Statute Chapter 493, Section 6301 et seq. Our Class B Agency License is on file with FDACS. We carry commercial general liability coverage well above state minimums. Additional insured endorsements, waiver of subrogation, and specific coverage limits required by mall operators or landlords are provided at onboarding and updated annually.

Pricing

Retail security pricing depends on officer count, shift structure, coverage hours, armed vs unarmed posture, and the specific risk profile. Unarmed retail deployments typically run $22-$35 per hour. Armed plainclothes and armed uniformed deployments run $35-$55. We send written proposals before any engagement and we price to retain officers, not to underbid the market.

Frequently Asked Questions

Can you provide plainclothes officers? Yes. Plainclothes officers handle loss prevention observation, covert surveillance, and high-value-merchandise protection.

Do you coordinate with in-house LP teams? Yes. Our officers integrate directly with internal loss-prevention programs.

Can you staff holiday and peak-season coverage? Yes. Many retail operators run a baseline program and scale up for holidays, Black Friday, and store events.

Do you provide armed retail security? When the risk profile warrants. High-ticket operators, cash-intensive environments, and specific prior-incident patterns justify armed presence.

How fast can you deploy? Most retail engagements deploy within 72 hours of signed agreement. Emergency post-incident deployments can deploy within 24 hours.
